  Our E5 M365 licences grant access to AI based tools in Purview to automatically categorized documents and set labels accordingly. Model training would require attention of an Security/IM expert to make perfect. We may want to create specific AI specific labels to avoid conflicts with officials ones.

  We are exploring using AI to help with job description writing and editing tasks, and initial tests using copilot have been helpful. It would be nice to have a tool that could write and edit job descriptions, help analyse current job descriptions and help with SoMCs, etc… This wouldn’t need protected data for training, but we would need to upload classification documents needed for this type of work.

  CSAS Knowledge Base Creation

  This solution leverages the Radia AI Assistant developed by the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED). The purpose of the initiative is to create a knowledge base of CSAS publications from the last 25 years. This knowledge base would allow anyone to leverage the AI Assistant to extract trends, data, and information in such a way as to plot new visualizations by unleashing the information held within the publication repository. This initiative has a Statement of Work with ISED and it is being scoped out for amount of work and cost. All indicators to date show that this is a very workable knowledge base development.

  Machine-learning-assisted Benthic Marine Life Annotation Tool

  The goal of the project is to improve the efficiency of the image annotation process to reduce manual efforts of the benthic science team and reduce time-to-insight from underwater surveys. Further development is prevented by DFO's IT infrastructure. There are ongoing discussions with CDOS to resolved this but the project is on hold in the meantime.
