The Portland Trail Blazers are based in Portland, Oregon and have joined the NBA in 1970. The first few years, Trail Blazers didn’t manage to amount to much success, but things would change drastically for the better in 1977 where they won the NBA championship. In their playoff journey, they defeated Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, and in the Finals, they defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, four games to two.
The ‘80s proved to be a period where they would reach further successes but also some terrible mistakes. In 1983, they drafted Clyde Drexler with the 1st pick, but they made one of the biggest blunders of all time in the 1985 draft, when they drafted Sam Bowie with the second pick, before Michael Jordan and. After the Drexler era, the Trail Blazers were home to some other great players like Scottie Pippen, Rasheed Wallace and also lately Damian Lillard. Ever since Lillard was selected 6th in the 2012 draft, he became the cornerstone of the franchise and that has helped them grow as a team continuously. Their latest success was defeating the OKC in the first round of the 2019 playoffs. It seems that the future is going to be bright for this franchise.
