Washington Wizards are based in Washington, D.C. and play in the Eastern Conference. The team was founded in 1961, in Chicago. As a franchise, they have moved from Chicago to Baltimore, and finally, to Washington, D.C. Wizards have managed to reach the finals four times and have won one title in 1978. The 1977-78 season, was a Cinderella story because they almost had no chance of winning the playoffs, but to everyone’s surprise, they managed to defeat the Seattle SuperSonics in the finals.
Ever since that time, despite reaching the playoffs on numerous occasions, they have never been a real threat to win the entire championship. Another reason, as to why the Wizards are famous, is because when Michael Jordan decided to come back and play basketball for the 2nd time, he decided that he would join the Wizards. However, that move didn’t help them much, since they didn’t manage to qualify for the playoffs while Jordan was part of the squad. Throughout their history, they have had also some good players like Gilbert Arenas and lately, John Wall and Bradley Beal, but yet again they have failed to become championship contenders.
