The Sacramento Kings franchise is a well-respected franchise throughout the league. They are most famous for the battle that they had with the early 2000’s Lakers that have turned into legendary games already. However, this isn’t the only reason why they’re known, before settling for the Sacramento Kings name, they had seven other names and have moved throughout the US. As a franchise, they have managed to win a championship title in 1951, and three division titles (1979, 2002, 2003). From 1998 to 2004, The Kings were one of the most feared teams in the league, and rightfully so.
If it wasn’t for the Los Angeles Lakers, they might’ve won a couple of titles during that span. They were lead by Rick Adelman and had players like Chris Webber, Vlade Divac, Dough Christie, Mike Bibby, Peja Stojakovic, that played phenomenal basketball. A series that will forever remain in the memory of Kings fans, is the one against the Los Angeles Lakers in 2002 in the Western Conference Finals. Kings would eventually lose the series, but according to many people, this was very controversial, and if it weren’t for the terrible officiating, they might’ve won their first NBA title.
