The MSN website was launched in 1995 and I’m sure that many of you have heard about it one way or the other. While it is a website, it also has many internet services and apps available. Even though it's no longer a household name when it comes to websites, not too long ago, MSN was one of the most famous websites out there.
Let’s start with the variety, MSN Sports offers coverage for NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, NCAA, Tennis, Golf, Soccer, MMA and a ton of other sports that you may like. So one thing is for sure, if there is a sport even remotely famous, you can find information about in on MSN Sports. A very cool feature that it has as a website was the "My Favorites Tab", you just need to register and choose your favorite teams and athletes, and everytime you visit the website, you can find everything related to your favorite athletes or your favorite teams.
The design is easy on the eyes and looks pretty cool, you can see in the front page the most important news about the big 4 of American sports leagues. You can also watch highlights, interviews and shows that deal with sports.
When it comes to the negative sides, I would have to start with the fact that sometimes this website wasn’t that well executed. For example, if you hover on the tab that says NFL nothing will happen, you have to click on it in order to get more info about it, then you only can see NFL-related content, as opposed to many websites that you can just hover and see, for example, lists of teams or leagues. Another reason why this feels clunky is, for example, if you’re done with the NFL section and now you wanna know more about the NBA, you either have to click on the sports tab again and then click on the NBA tab, or just click the go back button until you find the sports homepage and then click on the NBA tab. You can’t also find any original content written by someone at MSN, instead, they’re just taken from many websites across the internet. No original content.
I would have to say that this website offers a few positives, if you’re just interested in knowing more about results and not having to visit many sports websites, you can just find everything you may want in here. But due to the lack of originality and clunkiness, I rate this website lower than most.
