When it comes to Sports Illustrated, the first thing that comes to mind is the ever so popular sports magazines. First published in 1954, Sports Illustrated has over 3 million subscribers. It is widely know for it's famous covers, top sports journalism and it's swimsuit edition. Yes, admit it, we all love seeing the annual swimsuit edition.
Besides ESPN, I believe SI.com is next line as the next best sports website. The website is user friendly and has a simple but clean interface. There are also plenty of content as they cover all US sports, as well as international sports and fantasy leagues to name a few. While famously known for it's magazines, it also has it's own original tv programming such as 100 Greatest Moments, SI Films, and Under the Cover. SI.com also offers documentaries and movies on it's si tv package.
While not known for it's video highlight package, or tv personalities such as ESPN, where SI.com lacks of, makes up for it's consistent coverage. What else can you ask for from a site that promote swimsuit models, sports gambling, and a sports tv channel that shows all 5 original Rocky films?
I would easily include Sports Illustrated in my Mount Rushmore of sports websites based on it's rich history. What stands out the most for me about SI.com is their super clean and friendly user interface and top notch writing.
Overall, a great website that is thrives on quality over quantity. A must for all sports fans young and old.
